I will be looking the opening credits to the film called Psycho
and how it is effective in showing the genre of the film and portraying the
themes of the film. The intro to this sequence was created by Saul Bass. The opening
credits show the screen tearing apart. The movie psycho is a horror. There is a
murderer in this horror movie. This sequence creates that feeling of a horror
movie. This works by the screen tearing apart which makes the whole sequence
seem very disjointed. This sequence was effective in portraying the genre of
the film. The content in the opening credits is unsettling which shows that it
is illuding to some kind of horror movie genre. This works well in synch with
the music to create a great opening sequence. The content in the credits is
very eye-catching which makes me want to continue watching the movie. The
screen constantly tearing apart really gets my attention. This creativity by
Saul bass makes it interesting to watch. Overall the opening title credits to
the film psycho is effective in showing the type of genre it is the viewers by
having features that grab my attention.
