Storyboarding is an important part of the creation of the movie as makes planning the shots more easily. It helps as a visual representation of what is wanted in the shot and a detailed description of the shot which would then help to see the positives and negatives of the shot and what would not work so you can work around it. It also helps when editing when the editor sees the final film. A storyboard involves drawings to have a visual representation of what it would look like. It helps to get a better understanding of how it would look such as the number of shots there are and where the shot would be filmed, what specific location. For example, if the scene was about a man that was to break into a house a storyboard would show the exact location so a character might be standing next to a window ready to break it. The transition between the shots would help with a storyboard. Storyboarding helps to show what exactly is happening in the shot. For example, if the shot showed a man that was going to get a hammer and break a window then there would be a close-up shot of his hands on the hammer and picking it up. There then might be a tracking shot of his hands as he picks up the hammer and then a mid-shot of him breaking the glass. This would all be featured in a storyboard and would help get a shot by a shot understanding of what would happen. A storyboard would also help the editor editing in sound effects that are needed back to the hammer break example, a sound effect of shattered glass would be played and the sound of the swing of the hammer and a storyboard would help show exactly what is happening so the exact sound effects could be added to it. It also shows the timing and how long the shot would be filmed for. All of these aspects are the reason why a storyboard is so important as it would help show clearly what is happening on the screen so it would help when filming the scene and it would help when editing the scene.
