Sexy Beasts opening sequence - analysis

I will be analyzing the opening title sequence to the movie, sexy beast. In the opening, an establishing shot is used. The camera is focused on the sun for a while. It then cuts to a birds-eye view of the Man. he camera then starts to zoom in on the man laying down. It switches To a close up on his body. Then the music starts to play. The music is non-diegetic playful music. hen the man gets up to talk to the boy, editing is used to make cuts between the boy and the man which is supposed to show that a conversation is going on. The man and the boy have a friendly relationship.  Mise en sine is used to show this as the boy acts cheeky with the man. It then cuts to a birds-eye view of him again When laying down again.

It then cuts to a woman driving a car. The camera is at a mid-shot when recording her driving. Only focuses on her back in order to not reveal who she is. In the part before, there was a birds-eye view shot of two hearts in the pool. Editing is used by doing this shot directly after the birds-eye view of the hearts which indicates that she is his girlfriend. Mise en sine is used with a shot of a car going the opposite direction to the woman which indicates the isolation of the man's house that she is going to.  The non-diegetic sound of the music in the background is still playing. The diegetic sound of a car is playing on order to show that she is driving fast.

The mise on scene is used with the mans accent. It is cockney. It makes him seem like a stereotypical gangster. A far shot is used on the house they are living in. It shows that they are isolated. It hints that he is hiding.

It then switches to another cose up on the man's face. When he stands up, there is a worm's eye view of him. When he stands up, the title comes up and says sexy beasts. There was a mid-shot of him picking up something. It then cuts to a shot behind his back. It then cuts to a Point of view shot of a boulder that is rolling down a hill. There is diegetic sound of rock rolling. The audience can barely hear it because of the playful music in the background.  The music stops when the rock hits the pool.
